The "Smart in die Natur" project aims to engage young people as key actors of tomorrow in the protection and restoration of ecosystems in Baden-Württemberg. A mobile app combines digital learning with direct nature experiences. Learning modules on topics such as wetlands, forests, and urban ecology promote knowledge and practical skills. Interactive features and the option to document natural phenomena with photos encourage active engagement with the environment. The app motivates young people to contribute to shaping a sustainable future while raising awareness of the importance of nature conservation in their daily lives.

Experience Sustainability – Inspiring Youth for Nature Conservation

The Smart in die Natur project engages young people as key actors of tomorrow in protecting and restoring ecosystems. A mobile app connects location-based learning with direct nature experiences. Learning modules on topics such as wetlands, forests, and urban ecology promote knowledge and practical skills. Interactive elements, including the ability to document natural phenomena through photos, encourage active engagement with the environment. The app aims to motivate young people to contribute to shaping a sustainable future while fostering awareness of nature conservation in their everyday lives.

Combining Digital Media with Nature Exploration

At the heart of the project is the development of a mobile app that integrates digital technologies with hands-on nature experiences. The app offers educational modules on topics like wetlands, natural forests, orchards, and urban ecology. These modules provide relevant knowledge and establish a connection to the users’ own surroundings. Gamified learning and photo documentation of personal observations further enhance active engagement with nature and inspire participation in conservation efforts.

Action-Oriented Learning for a Sustainable Future

Smart in die Natur makes a significant contribution to environmental education by enabling young people to identify ecological challenges and understand their complexities. The app is designed to inspire active participation in shaping a sustainable world. Through its innovative approach, combining digital tools with outdoor activities, it aims to strengthen awareness of nature conservation directly in the daily lives of young people.
